Hellooooooo! Feels like I haven't written in a while, but really, it hasn't been that long.
This week we were back to "normal" again. Our vacation time was perfect, and we were so thankful for some serious family time. Last week we enjoyed having Ben around with us every day AND every night. He even started eating oatmeal with us in the morning. We must be REALLY fun to be around ;) He likes oatmeal more than me. I think I don't really like it because by the time I can eat mine, it's cold. And, most people know, I cannot stand cold food. I think I've mentioned that before. Probably more than once. I'm just really passionate about it.
We also started putting the armor of God on every morning. I used to do this with Caleb when he was Grace's age, but then I stopped. I figured it was time to start up again.... and wondered why I EVER stopped?? Anyway, it's pretty cute to watch Gracie putting her armor on. She's especially good at the shield of faith and the breastplate of righteousness. HAHA =)
This week I feel like I've been incredibly busy, but I still always have tons more to do. I think that's a problem I'll have forever. I need to get going on Grace's room. I finally found a crib for her room, bought shelves for her toys, and some bedding for her crib. I LOVE these online facebook sale/swap things-- that's where I found the crib and bedding. I feel like I've found a ton of things I need on those sites. Garage saling is still a better deal overall, but sometimes it's just faster and easier to see something and go pick it up. I still have to paint her closet and put some blinds in, but the end is in sight! I keep putting off painting her closet... I just can't seem to get enough energy/desire to do it. I think what gets me is cleaning off the roller and paintbrush at the end. The cleanup is killer for me.
These last couple weeks have been GREAT for going to the park. We went on Wednesday, and for a majority of the time Grace played in/ate the dirt and Caleb pretended he was first a monkey and then a bird looking for their homes.
Here she is! That was BEFORE the handful of dirt went in her mouth. Also, notice the boot in the background. Someone apparently lost their honking huge boot at the park??? (and only one... don't you think you'd notice?) Also, her hair-- should she get bangs? She pulls a clip out when I put it to the side and the ponytail looks a bit goofy. BUT, I hesitate to do bangs because once you go for bangs, you're kinda stuck that way for a while.
Notice Caleb's face. He's a "sad" baby monkey here looking for his home. The monkey never found it. The bird however found his nest. It was the slide.
What else? Oh, I was hospitalized on Monday night for about 4 hours. I was having contractions a LITTLE too close together for my comfort. I was ok with them until they started wrapping around my back... and then I started FREAKING OUT. And I really was freaking out because my blood pressure was WAY higher than normal. Lately my top number has been in the 80s and it was 115 at the hospital. HAHAHHA. I'm sure you can understand given my history. (My dear parents came over to sit at the house with our kids while we went to the hospital). They hooked me up when I got there, and I was having contractions every 3.5-5 minutes.... but the good news is that they weren't doing anything. I mean, I wasn't dilating or anything. But, they still didn't like the frequency of the contractions. Eventually (around midnight) they gave me this horrendously awful shot. I'm a baby. It was the tiniest needle on the planet, but it HURT! It pretty much stopped the contractions, and they sent us home around 1 am. Um, we're not in college anymore... 1 am is WAAAAAY past our bedtime... by a lot. I think it was past my parent's bedtime too ;) haha. Anyway, I'm very thankful everything is/was fine, and I'm not on bedrest or anything. PHEW! I'm not sure I could handle that. So praise God.
I think that's all the news around here.
Thanks for listening,
Melanie
