I had almost completed a beautiful blogpost about our week, my diseased children, my college roommate reunion, and Norwex, then SOMEONE from our church came up with this horrible idea to shave his head and tell my husband to do it too. So, that blogpost went out the window, and this one became the priority. The shaving head thing was like the ice bucket challenge only shave your head and for PASS (which I am a HUGE fan of PASS--crisis pregnancy center--. I would prefer just donating... but SOME people just HAVE to be drastic.... ) Anyway, I guess someone thought that I loved shaving Caleb's head (UM, apparently they didn't read a previous blogpost?!), so I must want Ben to shave his too.
I'll tell you a little secret.... I don't like shaved heads. I just don't. Ever. And now, 2 of 2 males in my house have their heads shaved. Why is this happening?? And, I must mention, someone named Ben has been quite adamant about my hair being a certain length since we've been married.... ahem.
PASS better get a HONKLOAD of money... that's all I'm saying.
Back to the shaving: we went outside, Ben shaved it since I had to do the videotaping (although I wanted no part...). He was having a blast saying things like "Shave a life!" while I was dying on the inside...
Look at all that hair!! Initially, I was a bit stunned... like "WOW. It's really all gone..." But we both decided we thought it ended up looking better than it could have. (BUT I was sure to express that it still didn't look nice)
After we went inside, I sat on the couch and intended to work on the blog I mentioned at the beginning. Ben was checking himself out in the mirror and called over to me... "Melanie! I missed a spot, will you help me?" Naturally, I said "No." I was SO over it.... before it even started. Anyway, minutes later, I hear "OH NO!! MELANIE!!! OH NO!!"
Ben forgot to put the guard on when going to fix the spot, and shaved a nice little bald spot on the side of his head.....
Remind you of anyone?!?!??!??!?!
Seriously??? What are these two trying to do to me?!?
I'm dying laughing as I look at this picture. Isn't this UNBELIEVEABLE?! I showed this to Ben (his picture vs Caleb's) and completely lost it (laughing hysterically that is)... I mean, come on... how ridiculous are the above photos?!?
As Ben was looking at the damage he was saying things like... "Note to self: Never listen to Andy Earnshaw" HAHA! (but, in Andy's defense, he said to use a number 2... and Ben just got a little carried away).
We sat on the couch for a while, and I would start cackling every few minutes while Ben was feeling worse and worse about his uneven haircut. He even said "It's COMMUNION on Sunday" We debated shaving the rest of it that short-- which I thought might kill me--but couldn't decide. Finally Ben said he couldn't stand having a "Caleb spot" SO, we went downstairs, and I shaved the rest of it.... it was terrifying to do it. I mean.... It's the setting I use when I'm just trying to finish him up around the base of his neck!!
What do you think? I think it looks awful. I also thought that it would just be a before and after picture... not a before, after, after that and final after picture. I guess I have high standards...
Oh and if you notice a little gash on the back of his head, it's a scar from when he was little. He was lost in Jcpenny and sitting on the counter waiting for his mom... when he saw her, he got so excited he jumped down and bashed his head...and had to get staples.
Ben went into Caleb's room after the incident (that's what I'm going to refer to it as), and told him they had matching haircuts. Caleb was SOOOOOOOO pumped about it.
It breaks my heart.
Those boys are lucky I love them. Amen? And please don't judge me because of their hair. While I may be the hairdresser, it's REALLY not my fault they both look ridiculous......
