Hellooooo! Sorry I've been stinking at blogging lately. I've been feeling REALLY busy lately. You know, when you have to clean out every drawer, closet, cabinet in your home, you don't have time for blogging ;). I said "have" on purpose-- because I've felt COMPELLED to do this. I'm in full blown nesting mode. I've never had it this bad before. Actually, I've also had the urge to do some major painting/redoing etc. but have managed to supress it enough so I don't actually go crazy. It's tough.
So, let's recap the last few weeks shall we?
We have made it to the park a number of times... trying to enjoy some nice weather before it's gone forever. Grace has fallen in love with this litte puppy, and I think it's SO CUTE. Look how precious she is snuggling with it?! She woofs at it whenever she sees it.
We took a family + Becky (Ben's sister) trip to Olive Garden one day, and this is how we kept our children happy...
bhahaha. I love Caleb's expression. He's so silly.
Speaking of silly, Caleb's got JOKES. We've been reading Exodus during family worship at dinner, and when Ben asks "Where did God meet Moses?" Caleb says with a HUGE smirk "Mount.... HORRIBLE!!!" Isn't he hilarious? We actually laughed pretty hard over it-- Mount Horeb, Horrible... nice one Caleb.
He also enjoys playing "Crash" with Grace. It's this sweet game where he pushes Grace to the ground and yells "CRASH!" Doesn't that sound great? (NOT!) The other day it was happening and even though Grace was LOVING it (I don't get it either), laughing her head off everytime she face planted, I told Caleb to knock it off. He just HAD to do one more, resulting in Grace hitting the kitchen floor and getting a bloody lip. There will be no more Crash in our house.
One Saturday we decided to take a family trip to Merrillville. We wanted to get a few things at Hobby Lobby (I LOVE THAT PLACE!) and thought lunch at Chick Fil A sounded good. And, it was the best idea EVER because it just so happened to be their birthday! Here's Gracie enjoying the cake they were serving, and Caleb got a balloon from the clown! It was super fun.
Then I went to the True Woman conference in Indy. It.was.awesome. Seriously. It's every other year, so if I were you, I'd be planning to attend in two years. I've been listening to Nancy Leigh DeMoss at Reviveourhearts.com for a number of years now, and I must say, if you've never listened, TUNE IN! It's been life-changing for me. Unfortunately I didn't take ONE honking picture at the conference... I stink!
And, if you're my friend on facebook, it's likely you've seen these pumpkin pictures. We went to my Aunt's house and got pumpkins! Caleb was having a few issues since he didn't want a pumpkin that was dirty.... seriously?!?! It was a nice experience-- my cousin's kids carried the pumpkins for me, and Auntie Deb held Grace, so I got to walk around without any lifting. My favorite.
And no, he did not take that pumpkin home. He just stood by it for the picture.
And finally, a lot of you have been asking/commenting about my upcoming labor. Here's a few comments.
1. I know it may be hard to believe, but I promise I want to make it to the hospital more than you want me to make it to the hospital.
2. The reason I want to make it is probably different than your reason. Having a baby in the bathroom isn't that terrifying. Going from a pain level of 0 to 100,000,000 in 45 minutes is way, way, way more terrifying. I want to make it to the hospital because it means I had TIME to make it to the hospital. (Ben may freak out while reading that. hahahha)
3. It seems like some people ACTUALLY think I should be admitted to the hospital in advance. So, if you feel that way, maybe you could contribute to the $300,000 hospital bill I would rack up. HAHA! Seriously, that cannot be a legitimate option.
4. Yes, I could choose to be induced at 39 weeks. I'm not into that. So no. Pitocin ruins my life.
5. Since I have contractions constantly, I'm really praying I'll have a clue when to book it to the hospital. You can be praying for me for that. ;)
Everyone satisified? =)
I'll leave you with a picture of my sweet, sweet son coloring in his pajamas. Isn't he cute? He's really into me drawing Bob and Larry for him. He tried to get me to draw Franklin characters today, but I told him I couldn't (because I actually can't). I mean, he's going to have to learn he has the most unartistic mother on the planet some time-- might as well be now!
Hopefully I'll blog again soon. I think I will because Gracie's room is ALMOST done. I ended up buying her a new dresser for her room since I didn't want to deal with mold. It should be here soon, and then we'll be all set... you know, her clothes won't be all over the floor anymore.
Thanks for listening,
Melanie
